Collecting School Supplies and Backpacks for Bastrop Fire Children

Community Church is collecting backpacks and school supplies for children who lost their supplies in the fires in Bastrop, TX.  The fire service says 1,400 homes were destroyed and we are estimating each home at a school age child so we need 1,400 backpacks and school supplies.

Members of the community can drop off backpacks and school supplies at our church parsonage anytime between now and Monday September 12, 2011.  We will deliver these supplies to the Bastrop ISD for distribution on Tuesday September 13, 2011.

The church parsonage is the house on the right side of the church driveway.

Check Out Our New Calendar Dates
We have some great new things coming up in August. The calendar will be updated soon but in the meantime you can see what we have in store below: August 6 - The Forgotten Child program will have 50 backpacks ready to give out to children in CPS. August 6 is the day we bless these backpacks to send blessings to the kids who will receive them. August 28 - Blessings Of the Backpacks - We are inviting students, teachers, and parents from multiple schools in the community to join us for a special service with backpack blessings and pot luck lunch after wards. August 28 - We are also starting our fall children and adult Sunday school classes at 930 am. Come on over and check it out.
